In late February, I had the incredible opportunity to join the Wedding Crashers videography and photography workshop, hosted by Hustis Film Co. and Camryn Bradshaw Films, with event planning support from the amazing team at Soul Agave. This wasn't just any styled shoot or vendor event—it was a thoughtfully curated, hands-on workshop built to empower creatives in the wedding industry to elevate both their artistry and their businesses.

As a behind-the-scenes photographer and videographer for the day, my role was to capture the energy, connection, and creativity of the experience in both photo and video.

The Mission Behind Wedding Crashers

What drew me to this event wasn’t just the opportunity to work alongside some of the most passionate vendors and filmmakers in the industry—it was the heart behind the mission:

"Helping wedding videographers balance creativity and business to build sustainable careers that support their families while staying true to their artistic visions."

That mission was present in every part of the day, from the educational sessions to the creative demos to the candid late-night reflections.

A Day Full of Learning, Creating, and Connection

Here’s what the day looked like through my lens:

12:00 PM — Setup Begins

The day kicked off with setup alongside vendors like Divinity, Hazel Grove, Soul Agave, and the Wedding Crashers team. Watching these teams transform a space into a cinematic ceremony and reception setup was inspiring. Every detail, from the lighting to the florals, was curated to support the attendee experience and enhance the visual storytelling.

2:00 PM — Welcome + Mission

We gathered as a community, with Kyle and Camryn introducing Wedding Crashers Co. and setting the tone: this was a safe space for growth, collaboration, and asking the hard questions. Everyone—from seasoned filmmakers to newcomers—felt seen and supported.

2:15 PM — Business Classroom Session

This session was a masterclass in building a sustainable business. I captured moments of attendees jotting down branding prompts, sharing vulnerable reflections, and nodding along to insights like:

  • “If your brand isn’t clear, your marketing won’t connect.”
  • “People book people—so show your face."

It was powerful to see creatives engage in deep self-reflection about their businesses, all while I documented those raw, transformative moments.

3:45 PM — Video Skills Overview

Next came the technical deep dive. Movement, lighting, posing, composition—it was all covered with heart and intention. The energy in the room shifted from business strategy to visual craft, and you could feel the excitement buzzing as attendees prepared to shoot.

Behind the Scenes of the Creative Process

Once the couple arrived, the space came alive. Each group rotated through three interactive shooting sessions: ceremony, portraits, and reception. As the BTS photographer and videographer, I had the unique role of capturing:

  • Attendees directing real-time moments with the couple.
  • Emotional connections unfolding between filmmakers and their subjects.
  • The way vendors and artists seamlessly collaborated in real time.

Final Thoughts

Working behind the scenes at the Wedding Crashers workshop was an honor. I walked away with a deep respect for the vulnerability it takes to show up as both an artist and an entrepreneur in this industry. This experience was more than a content day—it was a movement built on community, education, and authenticity.

To everyone who made this day possible—Hustis Film Co., Camryn Bradshaw Films, Soul Agave, and all the talented attendees—thank you for letting me document the magic. Here’s to creating with intention and capturing love stories with heart. See list below for vendors that helped make this day possible!
